Betty "Arlene" Wood

Betty “Arlene” Wood departed this life on Angel’s Wings Jan. 21, 2014. Born July 11, 1925 in Brea, CA to Melvin J. Long & Frances May Doss of Coneeuh Co., AL; preceded in death by the love of her life and beloved husband of 67 years Gerald “Jerry” Wood, her parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister & 1 great grandson. Arlene & Jerry were married April 19, 1945 & celebrated each other’s company every day. Their union produced three children, Ray, Lyn, and Lori; 9 grandchildren, Greg, Duncan, Kelly, Jessica, Blake, Angela, Scott, Abby & Alex; 13 great-grandchildren, Alex, Ellis, Lauren, Ely, Grace, Elizabeth, Jason, Jackson (deceased), Cameron, Carson, Leigha, Cadence & Noah.
Arlene was the most caring Mother & Grandmother to her children and their families. A lifelong Christian & devoted member of Woodland Presbyterian Church, Arlene will be sorely missed by her family & dear friends she touched with her dynamic personality & beautiful smile. Arlene & Jerry are blissfully together again and watching over us all.
