Beverly Ann Chisholm

November 25, 1931 — May 23, 2023

New Orleans

Beverly  “Bev” Ann Chisholm, beloved native and long - life resident of Algiers, LA, entered into Eternal Rest with her Savior on May 23, 2023 at the age of 91. Born in New Orleans on November 25, 1931 to her late parents, Louis Guy Chisholm & Imelda Harvey Chisholm. She was an avid Catholic from childhood who prayed her Rosary daily until her last conscious day on earth. She went to her Heavenly home to rejoin her late siblings: Imelda “Mimi” Hoffman, Louis Guy “LG” Chisholm, Jr., Lester Chisholm, and Corliss “Carlie” Killeen. She is survived by her sister  and brother – in – law Marilyn Jane “Janie”  and William “Bill” Bracey, with whom she spent several of her last days and hours of life.

She was preceded in death by the following nieces & nephews: the late William “Bill” Hoffman, Peggy Elliot, Gary Chisholm, Debra Price, Guy “Dinky” Chisholm & Geralyn Chisholm.

She is survived by many loving nieces & nephews: Kyle Chisholm (Linda), Corliss Ann Griffin, Bruce Hoffman (Margo), Barry Hoffman (Lu), Alison Hoffman, Catherine Epstein (Arnie), Louis Guy “Skip” Chisholm,  Patrick Killeen (Robin), Michael Bracey (Charlotte), Jeffrey Bracey (Linda), Timothy Bracey (Brenda), Gregory Bracey (Teresa) and Mary Eileen Pansano (Tommy). Also survived by numerous grand nieces & grandnephews of multiple generations. She treated each one of us as if we were her own child.

She attended Holy Name of Mary Elementary & High School and worked for the school for a short time after her graduation. She was known  as “Bobbie” by many, back in the day. Her career path led her to a Supervisory position with Entergy (formerly LP & L and Middle South). She was a loyal and devoted employee there for just short of 40 years, until she retired.

She was a kind, loving and generous person who was always there to help family or friends in need. Her retired days were spent carpooling for many children in the family and their friends who were also endeared to “Aunt Bev”. She enjoyed running errands for anyone who asked or expressed a need. Her pleasures were simple: spending time with family for meals, get togethers, vacations and special events.

Family members are especially grateful for the loving care provided by Rachel Bracey, Matt Wiest, and Tim & Brenda Bracey, who served as her primary caretakers in her final years.
