Billy J. Shafer

Billy J. Shafer, born May 9, 1932 entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the age of 81 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of the late Alford Shafer and Marion Hagler Kiser of Tulia, Texas. Beloved husband of Joyce Laurent Shafer. Step-Father of Cynthia Plaisance, Pamela Weber (Rodney), Denise Coburn (Larry), Dinah Hall (John) and the late Louis Plaisance, Jr. Step grandfather of Louis Coburn (Lydia), Monica Heredia (Lander) and Angela Mabes. He is also survived by many step great grandchildren as well as his former wife, Peggy Baily and her children and grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the staff of Eagan Hospice for their love and great care given. A Visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 11AM until 3PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3PM. A private burial service will be held at a later date.
