Blane Peter Ronquille Sr

After a courageous battle with cancer, Blane Peter Ronquille, Sr. born January 15, 1951, entered into eternal rest on May 2, 2015. He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Rebecca "Becky" Rousselle Ronquille, and his beloved sons, Blane Peter Ronquille, Jr. and Joseph Michael Ronquille as well as his daughter in laws, Julie and Ashlee Ronquille. Blane was the proud grandfather of Sarah, Logan, Kaylee and Paxton Ronquille. He was the son of Vearda Ronquille Babin and preceded in death by his father, Felix Ronquille, step father, Joseph "Teddy" Babin, his brother, Ronald Ronquille, and his grandson, Caleb Taylor Ronquille. He was the son in law of Joan Barrois Rousselle and the late Calvin Joseph Rousselle. He was the brother in law of Wanda Rousselle LaPorte (James) and uncle to Marc and Lauren LaPorte. At the age of 17, Blane volunteered to coach Dixie Youth Baseball in Port Sulphur and continued his commitment for 30 years. He retired from Shell Oil Offshore at the age of 50 which allowed him to spend more time pursuing his passion for hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren, along with his much loved and devoted Labrador Retriever, Rayne. Blane lived a life full of love, happiness and adventure and he considered his marriage, children and grandchildren his greatest joy. He will be greatly missed by all those who celebrated his life with him. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathlolic Church, Belle Chasse, LA at 11am. Visitation will be held at the church from 9am until 11am. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Blane Ronquille be made to Wish to Fish Louisiana or Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association, 119 Delta Street, Belle Chasse, LA.
