James R. “Bob” Tomlinson, 91, died Thursday, February 18, 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was born in Toledo, Ohio and has lived in New Orleans since 1976. He served as an Ensign aboard the USS Dyess during World War II. He retired in 1987 from Ingersoll-Rand Co. after 40 years of service. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a docent at the WWII Museum and an active member of the Woodland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Sue, children Jim (Lin), Bill, Cindy (Jon Darling) and John (Beth). Grandchildren Megen (David Minter), Patrick, Jennifer (V.G. Aduana) and Rebecca Darling along with great grandchildren William and Harper Minter.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday,February 27, 2016 at Woodland Presbyterian Church. For those who wish, In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Woodland Presbyterian Church, 5837 Berkley Drive, New Orleans, LA 70131.
