Bobby Lawrence Deroche, 81, a native of Des Allemands, passed away on November 14, 2022, at his home of 52 years. He was born on October 4, 1941, and raised on the Godchaux Canal. His was the blood of Acadians and Germans who settled in Southern Louisiana generations before his birth in a houseboat on the bayou. His father was a trapper by trade, and his mother was once accused of being a German spy. His wife, well, he asked her to marry him on their second date, but she thought he was crazy.

He always had a garden to tend. His love of the Eucharist called him to service as a Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Westwego where he was a parishioner for over 47 years.
