Bonnie Louise Pitre Parker

Bonnie Louise Pitre Parker, of Harvey, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025 at the age of 77. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years Sherwood Parker, daughter Dana Parker, grandson Patrick Beckham and cousin and true friend Holly Bradshaw (Randy Causin). Bonnie is the daughter of the late George and Nancy Pitre. She is the sister the late Lelia “Pete” Boudreaux (James “Bo” Boudreaux). Bonnie is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Bonnie was a graduate of Redemptorist High School, Class of 1965. Bonnie retired from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in 2003 after 27 years of service and she was a member of The Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 12, until her passing. Bonnie was a member of The Terrytown Volunteer Fire Department’s Auxiliary, The Stonebridge Property Owners Association, The Stonebridge Garden Club, Stonebridge Neighborhood Pot Luck Group and The Gumbo Ya Ya Book Club. She was an avid reader, loved gardening and traveling and she loved and cherished her constant companion, Lacey Girl her Yorkie. A special thank you to Bonnie’s lifelong friend, Bonnie Tonglet (Gerald) for her constant friendship throughout the years and for taking her to lunches with “The Sassy Lassies” all graduates of Redemptorist High School. For Sandilyn Brunet and Julie Taylor for always making sure she was included in all activities, functions and travels. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Guardian Angel Hospice, Nurse Maria and staff for their kindness and dedication to the loving care of their patients. We would also like to thank her caretakers, Paula LaChica, Shirley Burkert and Marie for their loving care through the good times and the many struggles of dementia. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 Sixth Street, Gretna, Louisiana, on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025 at 11:00 am. Visitation from 9:00 until mass. Interment will be at a later date.
