Bonnie Van Hees Schexnayder of Terrytown, La went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Beloved wife of Merlin Schexnayder, Jr. for 53 years. Mother of Kelli Barrois (Dale), Kris Babin (Darrin), and Rachel Schexnayder. Grandmother of Zachary and Chelsea Barrois, Sarah and Grace Babin, and Andrew Padilla. Great-Grandmother of Ayden Barrois. Daughter of the late John W. Van Hees and the late Elaine Hinchey Van Hees. Sister of Carol V. Camus and the late Susan V. Murphy.
Relatives and friends of the family, also members of Salem Lutheran Church and school are invited to attend funeral services in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11 AM. Teaching kindergarten was Bonnie's passion and she touched many young lives as a teacher at St. Cletus for three years and then at Salem Lutheran School for twenty years. Because of her love for teaching children, the family is asking that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Children's Hospital of New Orleans, Attention: Development Office, 200 Henry Clay, New Orleans, La 70118. The family would also like to acknowledge Heart of Hospice for the wonderful care and guidance extended during this time.
