Brenda Ann Cheramie

d. April 8, 2013

Brenda Ann Cheramie, or as she loved to be called, the CCB of Idaho Ave., died peacefully on Monday April 8, 2013 at the age of 62. Though being born with Spina Bifida, she defied all odds and lived a long and prosperous life. She lived independently and completely on her own for over 30yrs at Westminster Towers in Kenner. That is where she meet her lifetime partner and soul mate, John Verlander. Brenda, John, and their first dog, the late"Samantha", and now their newest dog "Kelly" enjoyed each day together for the last 30yrs. Even though she was born with Spina Bifida and was paralyzed her whole life she defied all odds. She never took NO for an answer and if anyone ever said she could not do something she proved them wrong and did it. Her positive spirit and just her true happiness for each day lite up every room and she truly made a difference in everyone's life. For anyone that knew her also knew her love for Tweety Bird and her undeniable passion for the New Orleans Saints. She was a true “WHO DAT" fan thru thick and thin and never game up hope on them. Brenda is survived by her mother Cecile Para Cheramie, her soul mate John Verlander, sisters, Martha Bourge, and Bonnie Dufrene (Dewey ), brothers Joseph Cheramie ( Linda ) and Lester J Cheramie III. Her 5 nephews Duane Bourge ( Mindy), Blaine Dufrene ( Alissa ), David Volion ( Christina), and Blake and Blair Volion. Her niece Brandy Dufrene and her 3 great nieces Madison Bourge, Cailee and Vivian Volion. She is preceded in death by her father Lester J Cheramie, Jr. , sister Vivian Volion, and brother in law Camille Bourge. We would like to give a special thanks to Ochsner Kenner for everything they did and especially to Dr. Srikanth Tamma and Dr. Najy Masri and his team. Also to Raina Boudreaux for all she did for her these last few months.
