Brenda Maria Daigle Illg Chiro

Brenda Maria Daigle Illg Chiro of Metairie, Louisiana, was called home by her Creator on September 2, 2024, at the age of 76. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Freddie Daigle and Gloria Marguerite Arabie Daigle. She was born on August 29, 1948, and grew up in Marrero, Louisiana. Brenda is survived by her beloved daughter, Robyn Leigh Illg Dansereau (Degan Joseph Dansereau), and her cherished grandchildren, Degan Joseph Dansereau Jr. and Lucille Marie Dansereau. She is predeceased by her husband, Ned Joseph Chiro. Brenda graduated from Immaculata High School and the University of New Orleans with a degree in elementary education. Teaching was Brenda’s passion. She dedicated 30 years to teaching in the Jefferson Parish Public School System, primarily at Bridgedale Elementary, where she garnered the love of both students and peers.

 Brenda had an especially close relationship with her daughter, Robyn, and she found her soulmate in Ned. Brenda and Ned enjoyed traveling, tailgating at LSU games, sharing a love of music, and attending Mass together. In addition to Robyn and Ned, her biggest joys by far were her grandchildren, who were everything to her. Her love for Lucille and Degan Jr. was a source of deep happiness. Brenda also valued her close relationships with her many friends.

 Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 4317 Richland Ave. in Metairie, LA 70002, followed by a Memorial Mass at 1:00 p.m. A private burial will follow.
