Brent Gerard Noel

Brent Gerard Noel passed away on November 24, 2022, at the age of 52. He was preceded in death by his father Spencer Duhe Noel and stepfather Ronald Rushing. Survived is by his mother, Teresa “Terri” Blanchard Rushing, stepmother Penny Richarme Noel, siblings: BrandiLynn Noel Schmitt (Warren), Brigette Noel Murphy (Jeremy), Kevin Roddenberry (Lori), Stephanie Rushing Bowin (John), nieces and nephews: Peryn Schmitt, Blake Schmitt, Sadie Murphy Chambers (Max), Bailey Murphy, Rylee Murphy, Kassie Roddenberry, Madison Roddenberry, Andrew Bowin and Brian Bowin. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was a resident of Terrytown, Louisiana.

As a child, Brent was always very inquisitive trying to figure out how things work. He was smart, thoughtful, kind-hearted, enjoyed reading, camping and heavy metal music. While school was not his forte, he was extremely intelligent, loving math and solving word problems. He went on to complete his GED, attended Delgado Community College for general automotive studies, worked as a machinist in the United States Navy and was employed by Broadmoor Construction as a foreman.

In his adult years, Brent struggled with a heroin addiction that ultimately took his life. He did have periods of sobriety but cravings that come with addiction were more than he could handle. Brent’s family would like to remove the stigma, embarrassment and denial related to this devastating disease. If you or someone in your life is battling addiction, you are not alone. Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 12pm to 3pm at A Day to Remember Garden Club, 1785 Carol Sue Ave. Terrytown, LA 70056. A private interment will take place at a later date.
