Broussard Edmond Rivet

Broussard “Hussey” Rivet passed away on August 21, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Beloved husband of Shirley Bourg Rivet. Father of Kenneth M. Rivet (Mary), Charlene Cheramie (Dolty) and Jeffrey Rivet. Brother of Lawrence “Pie” Rivet, Jr. (Marie), the late Dewey and Jerry Rivet. Grandfather of Christy, Billy, Nicole, Natalie, Chantelle and Shawn. Great-grandfather of Gage, Benjamin, Samantha, Burke, West, Sean, Elliot and Kate. Son of the late Vesta Dufrene Rivet and Lawrence Rivet, Sr.
He is a U.S. Navy veteran who served his country in World War II in the Asiatic/Pacific Theater. Attaining the rank of Motor Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class (MOMM3c), he served aboard the USS LST 118, USS LSM 393 and USS LSM 248. He was longtime owner/operator of Riteway Shell Service Station in Marrero and retired from the State of Louisiana as supervisor of the voter machine warehouse in Harvey. He was also an avid Tulane Green Wave fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, August 24, 2012 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM.
