Bruce W. Goodpaster, 66 died suddenly on May 5, 2014 in New Orleans. Born in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Philip and Martha Goodpaster. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jennifer Goodpaster. He was raised in West Palm Beach and worked in Florida until traveling north and finding a city that fit his infectious personality. He loved New Orleans making it is home in 1984 after meeting the most important person in his life, his wife Jennifer.
Bruce possessed a generous heart and enjoyed life and laughter. He will be remembered by his friends not for what he said or did but for how he made you feel when around him. He could make you laugh just listening to his quick wit and humorous take on whatever topic was being discussed. He was compassionate, loving, caring and real and he'd make you feel it with one look in those tender eyes. He will be missed and will live forever in our hearts.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Goodpaster; his parents, Martha and Philip Goodpaster of Okeechobee FL; brother Michael Goodpaster of Fort Smith AR; sister Pamela Goodpaster of Stratford CT; four children Tracy Goodpaster of Miamisburg, OH; Tammy Pickett of West Palm Beach, FL; Jennifer Perry and Jason Goodpaster from Orlando, FL; five grandchildren Ashlyn, Addison, Kelsey, Kassidy, and Kyle; a large group of extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services to celebrate his life at Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kiwanis PO Box 6464 New Orleans, LA 70174.
