Calvin Joseph Pelas Jr.

Calvin “CJ” Pelas, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 8:13PM at the age of 65. Beloved and loving husband of Alena Ronquillo Pelas for 8 years. Husband of the late Linda Trahan by 1st marriage. Son of the late Calvin Joseph Pelas, Sr. and Margaret Stewart Pelas. Father of Chad Pelas (Kris), Jeffery Pelas (Dawn) and Catina Pelas (Chris). Step father of Terry Ronquillo (Shirley), Todd Ronquillo (Joy) and the late Rusty Ronquillo. Survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. Brother of Sheila Pelas Frazier (Harley), Floyd Pelas and the late Clayton Pelas and Darlene Pelas. CJ was a lifelong resident of Port Sulphur. He was the Chief Inspector for Plaquemines Parish Government for 28 years. He was also the President of the Port Sulphur Lions Club. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Highway 23, Port Sulphur, LA on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Monday at 11AM. Interment will be in Narin Cemetery, Narin, LA.
