He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Florence Falgoust Schaubhut and his only child, Nancy Ann Schaubhut (St. Michael Special School and the Joy Center).
Brother of Cynthia E. Schaubhut, the late Andrew P. Schaubhut, Karl J. Schaubhut, Alton J. Schaubhut, and Joyclen Schaubhut Bourgeois. Son of the late Sidonia Fabre Schaubhut and Andrew P. Schaubhut. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Huey retired as Captain from the New Orleans Fire Department Engine 40, after 32 years of dedicated service. He was an avid gardener and had a vegetable garden for more than 30 years. He also enjoyed fishing and going to casinos.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of West Jefferson Medical Center (8th Floor) and Anvoi Hospice for their care and compassion shown to Huey and his family.
Visitation will be held at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Algiers, LA on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna.
