Capt. Ted Raliegh Paul Bergeron, Sr. passed away on May 5, 2014 at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of 60 years to Elaine Collins Bergeron. Father of Sue Ellen Taylor (Gerard), Ted Bergeron Jr. (Cheryl), Brenda Boudreaux (Gary) and Chantel Williams. Grandfather of Gerard Taylor Jr., Jaime Taylor Rodriguez (Rickey), Ted Bergeron III (Lisa), Brittney Bergeron, Gary Boudreaux Jr. (Danielle), Michael Boudreaux (Heather) and Tyler Williams. Great-grandfather of Macie Taylor, Kyli and Kelcie Rodriguez, Hailey Boudreaux and Bryn Bergeron. Brother of Voltaire Bergeron Sr. Son of the late Francis Bergeron. He is also preceded in death by his beloved canine companion “Shadow”. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
He was a boat captain for 60 years and worked with McKinney Towing and Salvage, Joseph C. Domino, Inc., M & W Marine, Roy Toups Towing, Magoon Towing and Horace Savoie Towing. He was a member of Woodmen of the World, was a former leader with Boy Scout Troop 394 in Marrero, loved the outdoors, fishing, trawling, riding his bike and golf cart, talking with people, spending time at his home in Mississippi and the Westwego Senior Center. But most of all, he loved spending time with his beloved Elaine, his family and his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.
