Carlos J. Campo

June 27, 1967 — September 3, 2022

Carlos J. Campo, to many, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, September, 3, at Ochsner Hospital, in Terrytown, LA, with his wife, daughter, and son on his side. Carlos was born in Popayan, Colombia, June 27, 1967. When he was 24, his family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He graduated from Liceo Nacional Alejandro Humboldt. He moved to New Orleans, Louisiana at 27 and began a lifetime career in construction at Insul Tech for over 25 years. Overtime he became a supervisor in the company. An outdoorsman, he was the happiest just being with his family, his family was everything to him. He truly enjoyed cooking barbecue, going fishing, going out of town, and eating out on the weekends. He loved watching soccer, especially when Colombia played. He was the type of man who would choose to repair something over buying a new one. He valued hard work, honesty, and the value of a man’s word. To his children he was loving, but reasonable. His kids meant the world to him. He was a devoted father and most important a friend. When his kids were little he made them a promise and said, “I never had anything, but one thing I can assure is that I will give you everything I never had,” and stood behind that promise. Not only was he a father, but also the only one we could count on for any and everything. To his wife, he was loving, caring, and always made sure she knew she was his everything, not only was she his wife, but his best friend, other half, and confidant, she knew everything about him that he knew about himself. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Martha Campo; his daughter Michelle Campo and son Carlos Campo Jr. His grandchildren Leopoldo and Chikis. His mother Lucrecia Guerrero, father Ramiro Campo (deceased), and stepmom Cristina Campo. His grandparents Obdulia Salazar (deceased) and Celio Guerrero (deceased). His in-laws Rogelio and Rosa. His brothers, Fernando, Fabian, Harold (deceased), Felipe, Ronnie, Chila, and Darlin. His uncles Hector Campo (deceased) and Gustavo Campo.
