Carlos T. Chauvin, a lifelong resident of Westwego, LA, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 85 years of age. He was born on October 20, 1926 in Houma, LA to the late Camille T. Chauvin and Vivian Carlos Chauvin. Carlos was a U.S. Navy veteran who served his country during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and later retired as a Maintenance Supervisor with Avondale Shipyard.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved son, Don Carlos Chauvin; wife, Anna Mae Clement Chauvin; brother, Ruben Chauvin and sister, Carmen C. Hindelang-Gautreaux. He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene C. Richardson (husband, Craig), Carla C. O’Connor (husband, Harold) and Camille C. Hernandez; six grandchildren, Candace R. Kaiser, Joshua Richardson, Kelley Chauvin, Ryan O’Connor, Camae and Colin Hernandez; six great-grandchildren; brother, Camille Chauvin; sister, Marie C. Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to his caregiver, Levi Mitchell, his niece Dawn Humphries and all who were there to help and support him in his final days. May God Bless you.
