Carmelite Ruiz Brechtel

Carmelite Ruiz Brechtel passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the age of 93 years. Beloved wife of the late Lionel F. Brechtel. Daughter of the late Louise Umbach Ruiz and Arthur S. Ruiz. Sister of the late Louise Clark and Arthur A. Ruiz. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong resident of Algiers, La., served as State President of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation and was currently N.G.C. Emeritus-Master Flower Show Judge. Relatives and friends of the family, also members of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Buena Vista Garden Club, JoEllen Smith Hospital and Meadowcrest Hospital Auxiliaries, and members of St. Phillip Episcopal Church are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette St., on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 11am. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9:30am until 11am. Interment, Metairie Cemetery. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Our Lady of Wisdom Health Care Center for their loving care.
