Carol Ann Sprauer Babb, entered peacefully into eternal life on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the age of 84.  She was born on January 21, 1939,  to the late George John Sprauer and late Carrie Kaul Sprauer.  Carol Ann was a native of Gretna, Louisiana and a life long resident of the Westbank. 

Carol Ann was the wife of the late Kellett Wayne Babb.  Carol Ann leaves behind to mourn her loving and devoted companion of 25 years, Robert "Gene" Poole. Carol Ann was a loving mother to two sons, Keith W. Babb (Donna) and Kevin M. Babb (Anne).  She was also a dedicated, loving and caring grandmother to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Carol Ann was a graduate of West Jefferson High School's class of 1957.  She was a homemaker before embarking on a career as office manager at Knight's Lincoln Mercury.

Carol Ann had a zest for life that was unparalleled. She had a vibrant personality that drew people in wherever she went. Her outgoing nature allowed her to connect effortlessly with others, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.  She had an unconditional love for her family and friends, always offering to help any way she could.

One of Carol Ann's greatest joys in life was celebrating the holidays. She would delight her loved ones by preparing delicious food, everyone's favorite gumbo and her famous strawberry cheesecake.  Her culinary skills were unmatched and she took pleasure in sharing her delicious creations with family and friends.

In her free time, Carol Ann enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. She enjoyed cooking, playing pokeno with her friends, traveling, camping and going to the casino to play the penny slots.  She played the organ at St. Marks United Church of Christ for many years.  She belonged to Stonebridge Women's Golf Club and enjoyed golfing. She was a member of The Krewe of Nefertari Carnival Club. On game days, you would find Carol Ann cheering  for both the Saints and the LSU Tigers. 

To pay tribute to the vibrant life Carol Ann led, visitation services will be held at  Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, Louisiana, on Thursday August 31, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM.  A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 1:30 PM.   Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Ave., Gretna, LA.

Carol Ann Sprauer Babb will forever be remembered for her infectious laughter, warm heart, and love for her family and friends. Her legacy of joy and kindness will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
