Carol Champagne Sanchez passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Herman "Buddy" Sanchez. Grandmother of Samantha Shewmake (William) and Nicholas Sanchez (Jasmine). Great-grandmother of Jude and Grant Shewmake. Daughter of the late Walter Champagne, Sr. and Marie Gendron Champagne. Sister of Gerald Champagne and the late Walter Jr., Sydney, Charles, and Roland Champagne, Mildred C. Besson, and Joyce C. Gendron. Former mother in law of Flavia Arrazola. Also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Age 76 years, a native of Hahnville, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. She was an avid bowler competing in numerous leagues, a Saints football fanatic, and an excellent cook. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Catholic Service in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 1:30 PM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10 AM until 1:30 PM.
