Carolyn Marie Helmer Rivere

Carolyn Marie Helmer Rivere passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the age of 74. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Antoine Rivere, Jr.  Mother of Darren Rivere, Sr. (Sandy), Gina Rojas (Trent), Jody Rivere, Tammy Victoriano (Marc), and Todd Rivere (Maryann).  Daughter of the late Joseph and Leola Glenn Helmer. Beloved Twin sister of Carolee Helmer Dufren (Armond, Sr.) and the late Marie Autin (the late Nolan), Irvin Helmer, Sr. (Judy), Arthur Helmer (Betty) and Edward Helmer. Preceded in death by her in-laws, Carrie Ann Thomassie (the late Ronald), Lloyd and Patricia Rivere, Kenneth Rivere (Linda), George Rivere (Laurie), and Doris Barattini. Grandmother of Darren Rivere, Jr. (Sky), Dylan Rivere, Darah Rivere, Jordyn Dufrene, Hannah Dufrene, Brett Percle, Olivia Hebert (Drew), Alyse Percle (Daniel), Hailey Jackson (Dillon), Bryce Victoriano, Blair Champagne (Alexa), Emily Rivere (Sam), Megan Rivere, Ashton Rojas, Allie Rojas, Glenn (Pancho) Otero, Jr. (Jenna), Rusty Otero (Mandy), and Dusty Otero (Heather). Great grandmother of Rue, Reece, and Reed Hebert, Ashton, Max, Madeline, and Kinsley Rivere, Layla Lobre, Wyatt Champagne, Ian, Rusty, Jr. Malia, Malli, Remi and Tucker Otero. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devout Catholic and loved spending time with her family. She was a lifelong resident of Westwego, LA. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 146 Fourth St., Westwego, La on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 12 noon. Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday morning from 9am until 11am. Interment, Our Lady of Prompt Succor Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Westwego, LA  A special thanks to Ms. Lena Rodrigue, Karen Autin Elliot, Aunt Carolee Helmer, Aunt Judy Helmer, and Denise Helmer for their countless love and care for our mom.
