Carolyn Margaret Spellman Sokol died peacefully in her home on August 27, 2016 in New Caney, Texas at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late William Desmond Sokol, Sr. Mother of Mary Sokol Cain (James "Tip"), Brian Sokol , Janet Sokol Boudreaux (Michael), Anne Sokol Taylor, and the late William Desmond "Billy" Sokol, Jr (Joan). Grandmother of James "Jay" Cain (Randi), Amanda Cain Hickl (Jeff), Amy Cain Perry (Leon), Kristie Cain Wilson, Jeffrey Sokol (Victoria), Caitlin Sokol Kelly (Steve), Barrett Boudreaux (Renee'), Michael Boudreaux Jr. (Amy), Aimee' Boudreaux Ross (Shane), Matt Taylor, Bradford Taylor (Meridith), Chris Taylor (Tammy Carter), Adam Sokol (Amanda), and Jeremy Sokol (Victoria). Great-grandmother of Hattie Cain, Cain Leblanc, Emma Leblanc, Hailey Hickl, Amber Hickl, Kolby Perry, Gavin Wilson, Braeden Wilson, Carolyn Sokol, Dean Sokol, Isabella Sokol, Mack Kelly, Stone Kelly, Grace Kelly, Layla Boudreaux, Landon Boudreaux, Logan Lassalle, Madison Boudreaux, Joseph Boudreaux, Faith Volpi, Peyton Volpi, Bailey Boudreaux, Samuel Ross, William Ross, Valentine Taylor, Peyton Alexandria "Alex" Taylor, Jacob Petter, Baine Sokol, Adelaide Sokol, the late Emily Cain, and one expected great-grandchild.
Daughter of the late Theodore Michael Spellman and Aimee' Margaret LeBlanc Spellman.
Sister of the late Euhle Spellman (Jean), Marilyn Spellman Frank (John), and Joycelyn Spellman. Sister-in-law of Patricia Rau Sokol and Helen "Fritzi" Sokol Schurb. Also survived by a host of other family and friends.
Carolyn lived a long and productive life. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and loved traveling abroad and spending time in Destin, FL. She was an accomplished artist, gardener, and seamstress. Her family cherishes their paintings and the Christmas stockings she lovingly made for them.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Algiers, LA on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 10 AM.
