Carroll Joseph Hymel

Carroll Joseph Hymel passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Kathleen Lehnig Hymel for 48 years. Son of Alite Martin Hymel McDaniels and the late Ernest Hymel and step son of Wiley McDaniels. Father of Yvette Hymel –Puckett (William) and Rita Jean Hymel-Glover (Stan). Brother of Audie Hymel (Sharon). Uncle of Courtney Hymel. Brother in law of Jean LeBlanc, Margie and Rodney Camardelle. Lovingly known as “Opa” to Alex and Megan Cart. Also survived by a host of cousins, other family members and friends. Mr. Hymel was a U. S. Army Veteran and was retired from Avondale Shipyard as a Master Shipbuilder after 42 years of dedicated service. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #2496 B.P.O.E. and the Knights of Columbus. A native of Thibodaux, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Relatives and Friends of the Family, also Members of the Elks Lodge #2496 B.P.O.E. and K of C, Immaculate Council 4222 are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME,2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 AM until funeral time.
