Carroll Joseph "Lulu" Grabert, Sr.

January 2, 1940 — January 29, 2015

Carroll Joseph “Lulu” Grabert Sr. went home to be with the Lord, on January 29, 2015 at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband of the late Carolyn Breaux Grabert and the late Priscilla Olivier Grabert. Father of Dennis Grabert, Lenny DeRoche (Melissa), Dana Roland (Julius Sr.), Denise Breaux (Kevin), Belinda Fitch (Craig), June Platt (Ted), C. J. Grabert Jr.(Nicole) and Shannon Guillot (Shane). Step-father of Donna Savoie (Nelson), Darlene Boffone (Randy) and the late E. J. Breaux (Irene). Grandfather of Paul, Dennis Jr., Miceala, Lenny Jr., Danielle, Clifton, Lacie, Jared, Lanie, Joshua, Jacob, Julius Jr., the late Cody Paul, Michael Jr., Nicole, Steven, Victoria, Hunter, Megan, Carrie, Ridley, Shiann, Hannah, Jacob, Kelly, Casey, Erica, Jamie, Candice, Brandon, Elwood III, Tabitha and John. Survived by 28 great-grandchildren. Brother of Elaine Hebert (Roy), Cheryl Cordes (Joe), David Grabert (Patricia), the late Irving “T-Boy” Grabert (Debbie) and the late Larry Grabert. Son of the late Ridley and Frances Breaux Grabert. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Carroll served his country in the U.S. Army. He later retired from Jefferson Parish Public Schools serving as head custodian for Samuel Howell, Catherine Strehle and Henry Ford Schools. He was a talented musician and played many instruments but was particularly proficient with the drums and guitar. In past years, he played with “The Country Gents” band but most recently shared his talents for churches and groups across the Westbank.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Bible Tabernacle Christian Church, 1061 Oak Avenue in Bridge City on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Services will follow. Interment Restlawn Park Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to the Church on Monday after 8:30 AM.
