Catherine Lee Chifici

Catherine Lee Chifici born June 9, 1947, an Algiers, La native died October 11, 2013 in her Algiers family home surrounded with love after a 20 year battle that began as breast cancer. Cathy was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, caring sister and true friend. She offered unconditional love caring for others which was returned tenfold with an outpouring of love and visits with her to celebrate a life well lived.
Cathy is survived by her son Jerry (Jay) Ockman, Jr. wife Leslie, and daughter Tracy Lynn Barletter, husband Brian. Grandchildren Catherine, Jacob and Brice Ockman and Benjamin, Kimberly, Joshua and Amanda Barletter.
She leaves behind her devoted sisters Virginia Bengert (Louis), Irene Chifici, Merline Whatley and Tanya Fraisse, her dearest friends Gail Bear-West, Peggy West-Fayard and Michele Lambert and ex-husband Jerry Ockman, Sr. and many nieces, nephews and caring friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Anthony Chifici and Christina Barilleau Chifici , her brother Anthony Thomas Chifici, and her partner Dona Manuch who will be there to welcome her home.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 11 AM to 1 PM. Religious services will follow.
