Catherine "Kitty" Berrigan Kloor

Catherine “Kitty” Berrigan Kloor passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the age of 92.
Beloved wife of the late Thomas H. Kloor for 69 years.
Loving mother of Dr. Thomas H. Kloor, Jr (Cynthia), Dr. Steven A. Kloor (Terri), and Catherine Kloor Wattigney (Capt. L. “Toby” Wattigney, Jr.)
Beloved grandmother to Jason Jeandron, Monique Gutierrez, Nicole Janz, Zachary Kloor, Jonathan Kloor, Alexandra Kloor, Kyle Kloor, Bradley Kloor, and Maurice Wattigney. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
Catherine was born in New Orleans on June 28, 1930, to the late Harold E. Berrigan and Catherine Bonura Berrigan. She is survived by her brother, Harold E. Berrigan, Jr., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Catherine was a native of New Orleans, and a resident of Belle Chasse for the last 23 years. She was a graduate of Gretna High School, and she attended Loyola University where she studied elementary education. She had a keen interest in Journalism, which resulted in her being a sportswriter for the Maroon Newspaper.
She taught third grade at St. Andrew the Apostle in Algiers for many years prior to becoming the owner of Jefferson Furniture Store, Inc., in Gretna, La.
She was the 2007 recipient of Loyola University Integritas Vitae Award. Catherine was active in numerous organizations, including Aurora Garden Club, The Theresians, and Ladies Leukemia League. She also enjoyed attending retreats at the Cenacle.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the administration and staff of Our Lady of Wisdom Health Care Center.
Private services will be held with interment at Hope Mausoleum, in New Orleans, La.
