Catherine Cortez Lowery

Catherine Cortez Lowery went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the age of 91. Loving, devoted and beautiful wife of the late Archie Lowery, Sr. for over 50 years. Loving daughter of the late Lucien J. Cortez Sr. and Azema Marie Allemond Cortez. Loving and devoted mother of Debra DeNicola (the late Joseph “Pete” DeNicola), Tammy Cascio (Patrick Cascio), the late Cathy Lowery and Archie Lowery, Jr. (Survived by Cheryl “Dolly”).  Precious Grandmother of Natasha Boulet, Tiffany Lassiegne (Ray Lassiegne), Talise Cascio and Whitney Lowery.  Loving Great Grandmother of Cyan Boulet. Special grandmother of Dustin Lowery (Alisia) and their children Hayden Lowery, Leila Lowery and Brady Lowery. Catherine is the grandmother of her Bonus Grandchildren, Roxanne DeNicola (the late Larry Jr.) and Craig DeNicola and Bonus Great Grandmother of Brandon Tillotson, Jordan Tillotson, Peyton Tillotson and Blaze Lassiegne. Beloved and loving Godmother of Peggy Breaux (the late Danny), Harry “Jack” Roberts, Rhonda Sudo (the late Nile), Erin Cortez (Shelly) and Martha Trauth.  Loving Sister of Alice Savoie (the late Paul), Marylin Jambon (the late Choody), Velma Roberts (the late Jack), the late Judy Ann Cortez, Lucien Cortez, Jr., Lorey Cortez (the late Gerry), Carman Cortez (the late Judy), Freddie Cortez (the late Sandy) and Kenny Cortez (the late Sharon). Beloved sister-in-law of the late Marion Lowery Plaisance (Survived by Jacob), the late Lolay Jr. and Valerie Chauvin, the late Johnny Lowery and sister-in-law of Cynthia Lowery. Survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and love to her caregivers of 13 years, Tiffany and Ray Lassiegne.  Catherine was a lifelong resident of the Westbank.  She and her husband, Archie enjoyed Marlin Fishing around the world especially at Port Eades, Louisiana with the New Orleans Big Game Fishing Club. Catherine was a loving, devoted Homemaker and Co-Owner of Lowery Brothers Wire Rope and Rigging Center. She made an impact upon each person she encountered throughout her lifetime.  She adored her longtime friends who were like family to her, Violet Breaux Saladino, Mike and Pam O’Brien, owners of Avondale Container Yard and former neighbors, Family of Paul and Rita Candies, Family of Otto Candies, Sr. and the late Roy and Jackie Hebert. Catherine loved and served her family and friends well, so much that everyone felt the depths of her personal love for them. Above all, she glorified the Lord with a full heart all the days of her life.  In lieu of flowers, Catherine’s wishes are for donations to be made in her memory to Experience ELLE Ministries at 3436 Magazine Street #248, New Orleans, LA 70115 and/or www.experienceelle.com (http://www.experienceelle.com/).  Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Victory Church, 5708 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana on Saturday, December 23, 2023 from 10:30AM until 1PM.  Funeral Services will begin at 1PM with Rev.
