Chad M. Buras, Sr.

Chad Michael Buras, Sr. entered into eternal rest on February 11, 2025 at the age of 63. If you knew Chad, you knew he had MULTIPLE Companions. He is the son of Sandra Lee Rojas Callahan, Ronald Callahan, Janet Buras and the late Gary Joseph Buras. Father of Brandy Danos (Gordon), Clayton Buras, Brandon Buras and Chad Buras, Jr. Grandfather of Brennen Buras, Breanna Buras, Christopher Buras, Chadwick Martin, Maegan Martin, Lane Martin and Alaina Martin. Great Grandfather of Chadwick Martin, Kade Martin, Michael Enclade and Mylan Enclade. Brother of Trudy DeLoach (Johnny), Waylon Buras (Carmine), Sean Swazey and Kevin Swazey. Chad is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong resident of Venice, Louisiana. 

Chad was a man of many talents and passions. A skilled commercial fisherman, welder and boat captain, he spent his days on the water, sharing his expertise and love for the sea with his sons. Known as a true “Jack of all trades”, there was nothing he couldn’t fix. His hands worked magic whether it was repairing a boat, a motor or anything in between. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting rabbits, which brought him joy and a sense of peace. His passion for Hot Rod Cars and the thrill of speed also defined him; a true motorhead with a heavy foot always chasing that next rush. Chad’s heart was as big as his talents. His laughter and his unshakable presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of calling him a friend. In his final months, Chad was fortunate to have the loving care and support of his Uncle Bonzo, who meant the world to him. Their bond was deep and love for his uncle was immeasurable. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 2PM until 5PM. A private interment will take place at a later date.
