Charles Daniel Guidry, age 64, suddenly passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in the arms of his loving wife, Corlee. He was born in Westwego, LA on December 12, 1948. He was known to his family and friends as Daddy, Danny, Charlie and Poppa D. Danny was born to the late Eric and Eve Guidry, Sr. of Venice, LA. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Theodore and Alva Chartier, father-in-law Vernon Simon and his brother-in-law Rick Jones. He is survived by his wife Corlee Simon Guidry of fifteen years. Loving father of Rachel Tankersley and husband Eric, Rachelle Suir and husband Glenn Michael. Step father of Angela Sundy and husband Simon, Sr. and Jamie Malley. He is survived by brothers Eric Guidry, Jr. and his wife Lorraine, Michael Guidry and his wife Janice and his sisters Mona Lisa Guidry Jones, Julienne Guidry Erfle and Christine Guidry Baza. Grandfather of Simon, Mikell, Shawn, Calleigh, Sydney, Madison, Destiney and Daniel. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Laura and Gerald Weatherly, a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends. He was retired from Gulf Oil Corp., owner of the Cool Factory, employed by Venture Transportation and was an avid fisherman, crabber and claimed “he had fish oil in his skin.” He enjoyed cooking, video games, slots, LSU and the Saints, his stupid (beloved) chickens but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Sunday, September 1, 2013 from 6 PM until 11 PM and again Monday, September 2, 2013 from 9 AM until 11:45 AM. The Funeral Mass will be said at St. Patrick’s Church, Hwy 23, Port Sulphur, LA on Monday at 1 PM. Interment, Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery, Buras, La.
