Charles John Matherne

Charles John Matherne entered into eternal rest on October 29, 2024. Beloved husband of Robyn Parker Matherne. Father of Ryan Matherne, Charles C. Matherne, and stepfather of Susan Scott, Michael Keen, and Tammy Keen. Grandfather of Paul Matherne, Infinity Matherne, Gavin Matherne, Autumn, Michael Jenkins, Matthew Jenkins, Kyle Jenkins, and Allison Jenkins. Great-grandfather of Haylee. Son of Lorena McLean Matherne and Autrey Matherne. Brother of Kathryn M. Wolz (Randy), Debra Dufrene (Dino), and David Matherne (Tiffany). Also survived by nieces and nephews. Age 65 years, a native of New Orleans, and resident of Gretna, LA. Charles graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1977 and spent his career with Avondale Shipyard and Bollinger Quick Repair. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cheering for LSU and the Saints, and fishing. 

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Parlor of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 11 AM. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until funeral time. Interment private. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries in his honor.
