Charles Joseph Poché

Charles Joseph Poché, a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021. He was 90 years old. He was predeceased by his parents Whitney James Poché and Anita Casler Poché, and by his sister Anita White. He has been reunited with his son Whitney Joseph Poché. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Betty Clesi Poché, three children: Gizelle Poché Richard (Paul), Monique Poché Bennett (Donald), Stephen Charles Poché (Heidi), and daughter-in-law Julie DeManuelle Poché. Left to cherish their wonderful memories of Papa are his eleven grandchildren: Phillip Poché, J. Nicholas Poché, Catherine Poché LeBlanc, Jean-Paul Richard, Gabrielle Richard Benoit, Mignon Richard, Clesi Bennett, Charlie Bennett, Sarah Poché, Elise Poché, and Julia Poché. Charlie graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1948. He was involved in many sports and extracurricular activities. After graduating from Louisiana State University, Charlie embarked on a long, successful career in medical sales. He retired in the early 1990’s. Charlie loved his LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints…never missing a game. He loved his cars, boats, hunting, fishing, and spending much time with his grandchildren. Charlie was a man of Manresa House of Retreats. A private interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
