Charles Joseph Savoie, age 86, and a life long resident of Algiers, LA passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Marion Maronge Savoie. Father of Diana Hutchison. Father-in-law of Philip Hutchison. Son of the late Oleus and Lillian Bergeron Savoie. Brother of the late Laura Hock, Esther Savoie and William “Bill” Savoie, Sr. Grandfather of Keith Hutchison and Monica Hanson Hutchison. Great Grandfather of Kyle and Brice Hutchison. Uncle of Edmond “Mike” Savoie, Patricia Hebert, Nolan Seibert, Jr., Gerald Maronge, Jr., and the late William Savoie, Jr., Shirley Seibert and Samuel Hock. Great Uncle of Dawn Favre, Jonathan Hebert, Shawn, Scott and Brent Savoie, and Tracy and Scott Savoie. Mr. Savoie retired from Amtrak with over 40 years of service, was a Grand Knight for two terms in the Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council 1724 in Algiers, and served in the United States Coast Guard in World War II. Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Baker Oil Tools in Houma, LA and Martin Behrman class of ‘64 are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Mothe Funeral Homes, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11:00 am.
