Charles Douglas "Doug" Stevens

Charles Douglas “Doug” Stevens, age 84 entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 26, 2014. Beloved and loving husband of Virginia George Stevens for 40 years. Son of the late Charles Stevens and Mary Lou McCarley Stevens. Devoted father of Michael Stevens (Brenda), William Brumley (Denise), James D. Brumley (Deann), Jeremy Stevens (Kandy), Sean Stevens (Angie), John Paul Stevens (Ashley) and the late Rick Stevens (Survived by Sherril). Brother of Alvin Duggan of Jacksonville, AL. Charles is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. He resided in Gretna, LA for 44 years. Charles was Sr. Chief Petty Officer, E-8 in the United States Coast Guard for 24 years. He served his country in the Korean War while enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Jeauno, Alaska and was a member of the United States Coast Guard Radio Operators. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 6PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 8AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11AM. Interment will be privately held at a later date.
