Charlotte Gaida Blackwell

Charlotte Gaida Blackwell went home to be with her Lord on April 4, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Beloved mother of Martina Barbara Asbury (husband Dan) and Thomas Blackwell (wife Holly). Grandmother of Katarina Asbury and Noah Blackwell. Sister of the late Helga Perez, Trautel Eitel and Inge Gaida. Daughter of the late Martha and Jakob Gaida.
Charlotte came to New Orleans from Germany in 1957 as a new bride and mother. She faced with courage and strength, the wars in Germany and the transition to a new culture. She found a church home at Oak Park Baptist Church where she grew in the love of her Lord Jesus Christ. She imparted her values, love, determination and encouragement to her family and touched the lives of many cherished friends. She is now rejoicing in the arms of her loving Father where there is no suffering.
Relatives, friends and members of Oak Park Baptist Church and the German Seaman’s Mission are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 11 AM to 2 PM.
