On Tuesday, March 28, 2013, Chellie Smith Jr. passed away at the age of 76. He was comforted by his loving wife, children, family, and friends. Chellie is the husband of Gina Phillip Smith. Son of the late Chellie Smith, Sr. and Thelma Smith. Father of Chellie Smith, III, John Smith, Kerri Decell, Jason Smith, Christian Smith and Amanda Cochran. Grandfather of Meghan Smith, Taylor Smith, John-Paul Smith, Margaret Decell, Curtis Decell, Jr., Madeline Rondo, Rachel Smith, Alexandra Smith and Elliot Smith. Brother of the late Roy Smith and Carol Michele. Chellie Smith was a dynamic and unique individual who developed many special friendships with individuals around the world while working in the oil field industry. Chellie will always be remembered for his zest for life and infamous stories compiled of special memories made with family and friends. He was also owner along with his wife Gina, of River’s Edge restaurant in the French Quarter where they shared many memorable times with new and old friends. Chellie was known for and always will be remembered for having an impeccable sense of work ethic, as well as an adventurous spirit who lived life to the fullest. There will always be a special place for Chellie in the hearts of his wife, children, family, and friends. He will be deeply missed and cherished forever. We love you Chellie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 9AM until 1:30PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:30PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
