Chester J. “Bones” Orgeron Jr. passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of the late Connie Camus Orgeron for 53 years. Father of Alice O. Moak (Benny), Chester Orgeron III, the late Karen O. Provenzano (David) and an infant son. Son of the late Frances Giambelluca Orgeron and Chester J. Orgeron, Sr. Brother of Vincent Orgeron (Allison), George Orgeron (Cynthia), the late Alice Orgeron and Helen Mier. Grandfather of Douglas Schilling Jr., Ashley Guy (Andy), Monica Hebert, Hut Moak, Sherri Webb (Kody), Kristi Provenzano (Brance), Chester Orgeron IV, Judy Orgeron, Savannah and Amber Bates and Cameron Orgeron. Also survived by 17 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was a native of the Westbank, a longtime resident of Gretna, LA and most recently of Mt. Hermon, LA. He worked at Avondale Shipyard, Boomtown Casino and Winn Dixie. He was a gardener, fisherman, hunter and trapper known as “Mt. Hermon Bones”. He was a comedian at heart and could make anyone laugh. Sometimes called “Grasshopper” by his grandchildren, he helped to create memories that will last a lifetime. He will always be remembered as a true family man and will be missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 10 AM to 1 PM.
