Christine Marie Cognevich

Christine Marie Cognevich, 58, was received into the hands of our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 surrounded by her dearest relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gertie Cognevich and her siblings, Wayne and Monica Cognevich. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth J. Cognevich, Sr. and his wife June; her sister-in-law, Marlene Cognevich as well as nieces and nephews, Wayne Cognevich, Marlaina Hingle, John Cognevich, Tonya Wellman and her faithful friend Louis Hackett. Christine graduated from Belle Chasse High School, William Carey School of Nursing and received her Masters Degree in counseling from Our Lady of Holy Cross College. She was a practicing nurse at Baptist Hospital for over 25 years. Most recently she worked as a medical case manager. Christine was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Pastoral Council and choir. She also sang in the choir at St. Francis Xavier Church. Christine’s greatest joys included traveling and family. Her most treasured moments were spent in conversation with her many friends, whom she loved dearly. A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Highway 23, Belle Chasse, LA on Monday, April 15, 2013 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Monday at 11AM. Interment will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, LA.
