Clarence James Red, Sr. died on Saturday morning, September 17, 2016 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Elveria Red to whom he was married 72 years at the time of her death in 2010. He is survived by his loving and caring son, Dr. Clarence Red, Jr. (Una) of Laguna Woods, CA, and daughter Beverly Smith of New Orleans, LA. Grandfather of Dr. Clarence Red, III (Linzette) of Joliet. IL, Alexandria Red of Seattle, WA, and Felicia Smith of Houston, TX. Great-grandfather of Summer Red of Denver, CO, Morgan Red of Joliet, IL, Shaughnesy El-Amin Smith, Josiah El-Amin Smith, and Garlynn El-Amin Smith of Houston, TX. He also leaves to cherish his memories his devoted sisters-in-law, Shirley Barnes of San Francisco, CA, Celestine Walker, and nieces Brenda WIllliams (Odell) of Chicago, IL and Mollie Morris (Sylvester). He will be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. We were blessed to have him in our lives for so long. Clarence was a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA and faithful parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Parlor of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette St., Algiers, LA on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10 AM.
