Clarence Mike Reppel

Clarence “Mike” Reppel, age 85 of Gretna, LA passed away peacefully at West Jefferson Medical Center surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Beloved husband of Gwen Rhodes Reppel. Father of Shawn M. Reppel (Carol), Constance Reppel Thibodeaux (Larry), and Deborah Reppel. Son of the late Maxime and Edna Reppel and was raised in uptown New Orleans. Brother of Alma Reppel Garris. Grandfather of four and great-grandfather of four. He was born on July 9, 1928. He was a WWII veteran of the US Navy, proudly serving aboard the USS Massachusetts. Mike loved Mardi Gras and participated in several Mardi Gras krewes. When it was not Mardi Gras season, Mike enjoyed woodworking and attending craft shows. He loved his family and his country. Mike was a former resident of Buras, LA where he was the Plant Manager for Peoples Utilities. He also worked at Gulf Alliance Refinery, TEST Engineering and Waldemar-Nelson Engineering. He was a 32 Degree Mason and belonged to Daylight Lodge in New Orleans. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 3 PM.
