Claudia Liner Hebert, a longtime telephone company employee in New Orleans and Houma, went to the Lord on June 4, 2023. She was 94 and 10 months. Survivors include four children, Howard Luke “Tookie” Hebert Jr. (Carmel), Cheryl Suzanne Hebert Gonsoulin (Bill), Robyn Elizabeth Hebert Thibodeaux (Ron) and Gay Ann Hebert (Eddie); 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister, Emmadel Liner Voisin (Chester); sisters-in-law, Ruth Jaquillard, Earline Liner and Lona Domangue; and devoted niece, Cindy Orgeron Bordelon (Wiltz). She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Eloi Liner and Bessie May Gray Liner; former husband, Howard Luke Hebert Sr.; brothers, Claude Liner Sr., Horace Liner, Morris Liner, Henry Liner, Collins Liner Sr.; sister, Angeline “Susie” Liner; and great-grandchild, Grace Elizabeth Thibodeaux. Claudia was born and raised on Bayou Dularge near Theriot. She was a graduate of St. Francis Academy in Houma and Spencer Business College in New Orleans, worked for many years for Southern Bell and retired from South Central Bell in Houma. In retirement, she was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and enjoyed traveling to Pioneer events. She was an avid volunteer with the Auxiliary to West Jefferson Medical Center. Claudia was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her children and grandchildren. Family members are happy to still be using afghans and quilts she created for them over the years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and serving others, and in her later years she prayed the rosary daily. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4401 7th Street, Marrero, LA on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 12pm. Visitation will be held at the church from 10am until 12noon. Interment will be held at St. Eloi Cemetery in Theriot, LA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.
