Clay Joseph Armstrong entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the age of 55. He was a resident and native of Nairn, LA. Son of Elaine Burton Armstrong and the late Raymond M. Armstrong, Sr. Brother of Raymond M. Armstrong, Jr. and Kristian Armstrong. Grandson of the late Simon and Myrtle Scott Armstrong and John Clinton Burton and Ruby Brandt Burton Reynolds. Godson of David E. Burton and Edna C. Burton. Nephew of Jean Burton and the late Ruby Burton Key, Dolores Armstrong Zegura Salinovich and Carolyn A. Despaux. Clay is also survived by many cousins and his devoted friend, the late Deacon Patrick R. Becnel. Clay was a recipient of the St. Louis King of France Medallion awarded by the Archdiocese of New Orleans for exceptional Merit for Service to the Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Highway 11, Port Sulphur, LA on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 9:30AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be in St. Patrick Mausoleum, Port Sulphur, LA. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
