Cleo Clara Dickson Banquer passed away peacefully on October 8, 2023 at the age of 92.
She is survived by her loving children, Catherine B. Vicknair (Tony), Larry J. Banquer (Stephanie), Michael F. Banquer (Sandra), Christy B. Boudreaux (Ronnie), along with ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Israel Paul “Tookie” Banquer; son, Richard Banquer (the late Dianne); grandsons, Todd Paul, and Larry Jr. and great-granddaughters, Lillian Grace and Cheyanne Tucker.
Cleo was born in Zwolle, Louisiana and lived on the Westbank most of her life. She married her high school sweetheart “Tookie” on September 2, 1948. Following Hurricane Katrina, she worked with area musicians to replace instruments and historical artifacts including gold and platinum records belonging to Antoine “Fats” Domino. She dedicated her life to helping others and while her passing is sorrowful, her life and legacy will be celebrated.
Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 10am to 1:30pm. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna, LA
