Cleven J. “C.J.” Daigle, age 80, died peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2011. He was originally from Labadieville , LA and was a longtime resident of the Gretna/New Orleans area. Beloved husband of Marian Thibodeaux Daigle for 59 years. Father of Cleve Daigle (Cindy), Julie Hamilton (Wallace), Bernie Daigle (Judy) and Jenny Peytavin (Michael). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and his brother, Daniel Daigle of Luling , LA. Preceded in death by his parents, A.N. “Catin” and Anita Daigle; sisters, Helen Morvant, Rosalie Himel and Marcella Thom. Mr. Daigle graduated from Labadieville High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette . He worked as an insurance agent for Harwig Moss Insurance Agency in New Orleans for 45 years, retiring in 2005. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and enjoyed woodworking. He was a loyal and faithful member of St. Cletus Church. “Cidge” was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. The family would like to extend thanks to the staffs of Touro Infirmary, Egan Staffing, Woldenberg Village and Compassus Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, L.L.C., 7040 Lapalco Blvd. , Marrero , LA on Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Mass will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment immediately following, will take place at St. Philomena Catholic Church Cemetery in Labadieville , LA.
