Clifford Joseph “C.J.” Morvant, Jr passed away peacefully at the age of 85 at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Son of the late Clifford and Viola Trosclair Morvant. Beloved husband of Audrey Vidonne Morvant for 63 years, and proud father of Chris Morvant (Marilyn) and Lynn Alello (Tony). Adoring grandfather of Mitchel Arbaugh (Liz), Ryan Morvant, Kristen Morvant Cherry (Danny), and Garrett Alello. Loving great-grandfather of Luke Arbaugh. Brother of Anthony Morvant (Brenda), Terry Morvant (the late Greta), and Janis Lanasa Rogers (Roy). He was born in Chackbay, Louisiana and served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army. A resident of Harvey, Louisiana for 63 years, he was employed with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD) for over 31 years as an inspector. Being ever the hard worker, he continued his inspection work with consultants on various highway and public works projects for another 18 years. He enjoyed maintaining a beautiful yard, listening and dancing to Cajun music, and outings to the casino. He truly enjoyed Audrey’s home cooked meals and was especially fond of her delicious desserts. He took pride in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild assisting them whenever he could from home building and house repairs to babysitting. Nothing put a bigger smile on his face than looking at photos and listening to the successes and antics of his grandchildren and great-grandchild. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Heart of Hospice for their outstanding, comforting care, especially Melinda and Ashley.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 11 AM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until mass time.
