Clifford A. Myers Sr.

April 2, 1927 — August 25, 2014

Clifford A. Myers Sr. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and decorated veteran of WWII. He also served in Korea. He was a longtime resident of Terrytown, Louisiana and ended his long battle with Alzheimer's and lung cancer on August 25, 2014. He was 87 years old. Born in New Orleans on April 2, 1927, he grew up in the St. Roch and Irish Channel areas. He attended St. Aloysius High School before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. A member of "The Greatest Generation," he fought in the Pacific Theatre as part of three major beach invasions. After being honorably discharged holding the rank of sergeant, Cliff returned home and began a family and a long career in the electrical supply business. First with Standard Supply in Harvey and then for years as the New Orleans branch manager for Westinghouse Electric Supply. In later years he was the owner of CAM, Inc., before selling the business and going into retirement. Cliff loved LSU sports and it was widely known that purple and gold ran through his veins. He also loved the outdoors and found great peace on the lakes and bayous of Louisiana hunting and fishing. But his greatest passion was his family, to whom he dedicated his life. His sacrifices ensured that his four children and even his grandchildren were afforded quality educations, and he was a lighthouse in any storm. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marver Rodriguez. His sons, Kerry Myers (late Janet Cannon Myers), and Davin Myers (Michelle). Also his daughter Dawn Massey (Steven). Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, the late William Myers Sr., and Sylvia Byrne. Also by his brothers, the late William Myers Jr., Warren Myers, and his son Clifford A. Myers Jr. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren; Ryan Myers (Amy Sue), Sarah Guillot (Timothy), Scott Massey (Danielle), Rachel Massey, Jessica Massey, Michael Myers, Julie Myers, Laura Myers, Connor Myers, and Julia Myers. And his four great grandchildren; Caleb Guillot, Amelia Guillot, Lauren Myers, and Derek Massey.
