Clifford A. Rodrigue, Sr. was born on November 17, 1926 and passed away on April 27, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Doris B. Rodrigue. Father of Clifford Adam Rodrigue, Richard Allen Rodrigue, Rene Alton Rodrigue, Donna Andrea Rodrigue and Kevin Andrew Rodrigue. Son of the late Lucien and Josephine Pertuit Rodrigue. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Clifford served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II where he was stationed aboard the USS Griffin in the Pacific Theater. He later attended L.S.U. and Tulane Universities and became a self-taught civil engineer. After marrying, he and his beloved Doris lived in Arabi Park in St. Bernard. He worked at Kaiser Aluminum, Fromhurtz Engineering, Burk & Associates and worked on many civil engineering projects in the New Orleans area as well as the Southeastern Louisiana region. Following Hurricane Betsy, his family relocated to Gretna, Louisiana. He was the chief engineer on the construction of the Steamboat Natchez through Bergeron Industries. He also worked for Snap, Incorporated and Circle, Incorporated. He established his company through Clifford A. Rodrigue, Company, Inc. (CARCO, Inc.) and following his retirement from active participation in the company in 1988, he has resided in Amite, LA.
