Clifford Francis Simon

Clifford Francis Simon, a lifelong resident of Algiers Point, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on August 5, 2023, at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley Rodrigue Simon and parents, Andre´ and Lucrece Simon, as well as five siblings.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. After retiring from American Cyanamid/Cytec Industries, he enjoyed spending time with his family, ushering Mass at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church and talking with friends, neighbors and tourists on his front porch. 

He is survived by his four children: John Simon (Marilynn), Robin Simon Pillow (David), Clifford Simon Evans (Donald) and Sharon Simon Duerson (Douglas). Grandchildren: Jeannie Simon Bergmann, Becky Simon, Daniel Simon, Christopher Pillow, Parker Evans, Caroline Evans, Wesley Duerson and Claire Duerson as well as seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 9-10 am at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA with Military honors ceremony and interment immediately following at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, LA, 70056.
