Clifton Joseph Dufrene, Sr

Clifton Joseph Dufrene, Sr. entered into eternal rest to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 9, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Frances B. Dufrene. Devoted and loving father of Clifton J. Dufrene, Jr. (Susan), Duane Dufrene (Shawn) and Christy Guidry (Troy). Son of the late Lucia P. Dufrene and Harris B. Dufrene. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Troy Guidry, Jr., Torylyn Guidry, Crystal Plaisance, Clifton Dufrene, III, Ava Dufrene, Madison Landry and Cody Landry. Great Grandfather of Damond Savoie, Jr., Cory Perrin, Jr., Peyton and Elexus Dufrene. Survived by his loving partner, Cookie LeBlanc. Age 76. He was the loving brother of Betty Vedros, Sergent Dufrene, Rose Billiot, and the late Celestine Dufrene, Evelyn Hebert, Herman Dufrene, Norman Dufrene (Dookie), Bessie Theriot, Viola Plaisance, Harris Dufrene, Winnie Plaisance, Whitney Dufrene, and Janet Billiot. He will be deeply missed by his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Clifton has touched many lives of the people he has met. He had a great love for singing, dancing and playing his guitar. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Music in June 2011. He also retired from the Jefferson Parish Streets Department. Relatives and friends of the family, also Parish family of St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, employees of Jefferson Parish, Title Source of Louisiana, Pard Playground, and DOTD are invited to attend the Visitation at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 8:30am until 11am. A funeral mass will follow at 11am with Celebrant Eugene Jacque. Interment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
