Constance Chookas Tingley passed away on January 27, 2016 at the age of 90. Former wife of Earle F. Tingley Jr. Mother of Ross Tingley, Alexandra “Lexie” Fuller and husband Randy, Melissa Lisa Crowder-Borne and husband Grant and the late Brian A. Tingely and wife Hai. Grandmother of Kimberly, April, Rachael, Kenny, Danielle, Rand, Nick and Kyle. Great-grandmother of L.J., Katlynn, Chase, B.J., Addison, Brandon, Benjamin, A.J., Alaynah, Kole and Kaleb. Sister of Richard A. Chookas. Daughter of the late Anthony and Ruby Handy Chookas. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Constance worked as a civilian secretary with the U.S. Coast Guard and retired after 35 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed working the polls for the Plaquemines Parish Elections for many years. She loved her family, she loved her garden, she loved reading her books and she loved her Fox news. She was a second Mother to many and she welcomed everyone with arms wide open. She will be sadly missed. In life she was a jewel of many colors and in death she will always be our diamond.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 12 noon to 1 PM. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale.
